Privacy Policy

Overview

Good Take is designed with privacy at its core. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. Your recordings, analysis results, and all app data stay on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account).

Microphone

Good Take requests microphone access to record audio. Recordings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server. You have full control over your recordings and can delete them at any time.

Speech Recognition

Good Take uses Apple's Speech Recognition framework to transcribe your recordings. Depending on your device and iOS version, transcription may be processed on-device or through Apple's servers. This is handled entirely by Apple's framework — Good Take does not send audio to any third-party service.

AI Features (Optional)

Good Take's AI copilot features require you to provide your own API key for Claude (Anthropic) or ChatGPT (OpenAI). When you use AI features:

  • Your API key is stored locally on your device
  • Requests are sent directly from your device to the AI provider
  • Good Take does not proxy, log, or store any AI requests or responses
  • The data sent includes your recording's analysis (key, BPM, chords, transcription) — not the audio itself

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, Good Take uses Apple's iCloud infrastructure to sync your data across your devices. This data is managed by Apple under their privacy policy. Good Take does not operate any sync servers.

Analytics & Tracking

Good Take does not include any analytics frameworks, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party data collection tools. We do not track your usage, behavior, or any other information.

Data Storage

All app data — recordings, analysis results, projects, settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If iCloud sync is enabled, this data is also stored in your personal iCloud account.
